I installed w2p ver 3.3 from Github on Ubuntu 14.04. I got email to complete the system\nconfiguration but when i create new users, they do not get email. When i update a new\nuser's role or permissions and click on the 'Update user' box in the \"Edit user\" pane,\nstill no email. Sendmail works on this box, even to gmail. Some old online docs showed screen shots of more SMTP settings but they are gone from\nversion 3.3. I am having trouble attaching a screen shot, but all i see relevant\nto SMTP are mail_port_title, mail_secure_title, mail_timeout_title,\nmail_transport_title and mail_user_title. All set to default. I did try ssl_item_title\nand port 365 but that failed so i went back to default. Any suggestions? Edit: i forgot to mention that my syslog file shows no errors with cron calling the queuescanner.php (computer name is galen) Jun 18 10:25:01 galen CRON[16358]: (root) CMD (cd /var/www/web2project/ ; php queuescanner.php)\nJun 18 10:30:01 galen CRON[16695]: (root) CMD (cd /var/www/web2project/ ; php queuescanner.php)

Here is what worked for me: 1. Create a mail user (I created a user named \"system\") and set a password for him 2. I tried many settings with the help of my ISP support team (thank you papaki.gr) and ended that these work fine:[1] I hope these work for you as well. ![alt text][1]Thanks for the reply, but my system config page looks nothing like what you posted. I installed w2p 3.3 (but the login page says 3.2.9). The attached pic is when i had SSL configured, but the default SMTP with port 25 and _item_title and smtp_item_title in the mail_secure_title and mail_transport_title menus fail to send emal too. I don't know why you see what you posted, but I suggest you change: quanticel.com -> localhost (I suppose the web server of the web2project installation and the mail server is one and the same, otherwise use full dns name smtp.domain.ext, like smtp.quanticel.com) 465 -> 25 (default SMTP port) ssl_item_title -> (None) smtp_item_title -> SMTP smtpuser -> smtpuser@quanticel.com (must be full username@domain.ext, in my case it is system@e04.eu) Just give it a try and let me know...

@ Themoulos - shouldn't the outgoing SMTP port be 26? I am recently having the same problem. My install was emailing fine, now it stopped working. When I add a task log it goes straight to a white screen, which I believe has to do with the email function.

According to my host provider, many of the ISP's are blocking port 25 these days. My host provider opened a SMTP server on port 26, 465 if using SSL, that's where I got this from.

No, SMTP in my installation is 25 and it is working fine, same port is in my email accounts in Outlook for the non-secure servers (no SSL or TLS).

@ gwildgoose Log mails also do not display the project name. I traced it to file \"EmailManager.class.php\", function \"getTaskEmailLog\". To fix it, I changed the first two lines with these: =============================================== public function getTaskEmailLog(CTask $task, CTask_Log $log) { //$project = new CProject(); //$projname = $project->load($task->task_project)->project_name; $project = new CProject(); //THEMOULOS CHANGED THE NEXT FOUR LINES $projectID = $task->task_project; $project->load($projectID); $projname = $project->project_name;\n............. ================================================ Notice that this is similar code with the other problem we had. My users don't post logs, so I did not notice it before. Anyway, it was easy to locate and correct.

@Themoulos Once again you've shown your unbridled ability to code as only a pro can do. Thank you so much. Although I am still having problems with the task logs going to a white screen and I am still resolving why my email stopped working, I have made the changes you have suggested and will be sure to let you know how they work out.
