I found the problem ... It appears to be an artifact from the old codebase. Module:\\modules\\system\\do_preference_aed.php Line17: if ((!($AppUI->user_id == $pref_user) && !canEdit('admin')) && $pref_user) { $AppUI->redirect(ACCESS_DENIED); } Needs to change to: if ($AppUI->user_id != $pref_user) { if (!(canEdit('users'))) { $AppUI->redirect(ACCESS_DENIED); }; }

This fixes the problem in the OP - user preferences can now be saved. Administrator role still can't edit user task logs, but that may be unrelated. Thank you!

I have this problem too. It started after I moved from DotProject to Web2Project, and it has persisted across 2 version upgrades (now in v 3.3). Additionally, I cannot edit a task log written by another user. The user I'm signed on as has the role 'Administrator'.\nFollowing are the permissions for this role. All Modules -> Access View Add Edit Delete -> allow Sys: ACL Administration -> Access -> allow

Can you try in a more recent version of 3.3.x? The current master development is 3.3.63 and this issue should be resolved.

I installed this, https://github.com/web2project/web2project/archive/master.zip\nwhich I assume is the latest. Both problems persist. Thanks!

I can confirm that the problem persists. So far, I have not done any debugging, but I will do so ASAP and let you know.

could you please add this to the bugtracker with reference to this post or the code snippet?\nIt seems Keith is on 'personal leave' at the moment, so it would help not to loose the fix. at http://bugs.web2project.net/my_view_page.php Thanks, Klaus
